Original plans to release the record on the 13th June have been shelved and the song will now be available digitally on Wednesday 9th and in shops afterwards.Thousands of England Fans have called the TalkTalk freephone lines to join the chorus and back their team to glory in South Africa this summer.Over the weekend fans’ vocals will be added to the record so the track will be mastered, ready to be available for Wednesday The record can be preordered now on HMVcom and 7 Digital.

While researching ideas for a new album, Tim asked renowned Shakespearean thespians Sir Ian McKellan, Sir Derek Jacobi, Pete Postletwaite, Richard Briers, Janet Suzman and Emma Thompson to identify a single theme from Shakespeare’s works. From the numerous responses he found the inspiration for his new album Sonnet 155. To quote Tim, Sonnet 155 is not about Shakespeare it’s a response provoked by Shakespeare.Sonnet 155 is also a response provoked by stage and theatre, for it was recently performed twice at the Almeida Theatre in Islington to celebrate the release of the album with the tagline One rock band. One string quartet. Two opera singers. Three actors.’The performance on May 9th featured Tom Arnold and his band as well as the aforementioned string quartet, opera singers Hannah Pedley and Jai Ramage and as for the actors, the Almeida was proud to welcome Richard Briers The Good Life, Paul McGann Withnail & I and Lisa Dillon Bright Young Things, Cranford.It was a highly unusual experience, with the venue providing a cosy and intimate setting for a provocative re-imagining of Shakespeare’s themes through rock music and spoken word If all this sounds rather serious and deeply intellectually boring, well, it was not! Au contraire, it was an entertaining and stimulating production that had words interwoven with the songs, sometimes spoken over music, sometimes over silence and sometimes with the lyrics.

As I said before, when it is good it really is very good another cliche but when it is bland it is just ordinary. They have been brave and this really is a strong move on from In Silico’ – development is a good thing.This album has been on the edge of my consciousness for a couple of weeks as I tried to make up my mind just what the hell is so good about Langhorne Slim.His songs are coming from the Americana side of SingerSongwriter and he has a voice that really isn’t great – slight and highish pitch – and he has a tendency to a rather whiney sound but the overall effect, especially when his band kick in and push the Anthemic’ button or he slows it all down and you find yourself nodding along with his pace is just bloody wonderful.

Between them these three guys have about a hundred years of playing Blues and with names like Bo Diddley, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles !, the Groundhogs and The Kinks on their various CVs you might expect a certain level of ability to be on show, What you get is an album that is thoroughly rooted in classic British Blues Rock and played without any of the apologetic stance that many of the veterans shape to these days Ц these guys are proud of what they do and they do it damn well!The album is a mix of classics Ц John Lee Hookers Ride Til You DieТ, Robert JohnsonТs Walking BluesТ and a great cover of the Groundhogs signature GardenТ Ц and self-penned material and their own stuff sounds about on a par with the rest.Check out Fu Man ChewТ for subtlety or Lazy MaisieТ for great driving music and a belting vocal performance Walking BluesТ features some terrific slide playing and Rocking The RoomТ sounds like a great set-closer for their live show To be frank I canТt find a weak number out of the 10 tracks here.

Nearly one-in-four mobile users is now toting around a smartphone, according to the latest finding from Nielsen. But activities like streaming audio, ringtone downloads, and full-track downloads lag far behind a range of other smartphone activities.Perhaps unsurprisingly, more functional activities like email, mapping, text messaging, and mobile internet surfing are most demanded among smartphone consumers. But other less-obvious categories like picture downloading, IMing, and gaming beat out music activities, though high-ranking app downloads certainly encompass music-specialized services a complete breakdown of all ranked activities here.And the war among smartphone makers? The band versions of Don’t Change Horses in The Middle Of The Stream’, the old Tower of Power blaster, and Too Young To Care’ were sassy, funky and huge fun and the real solo stuff like Gone’ or You Said You’d Be My Sunshine’ tore at the listeners soul and showed just what a great voice she possesses.Songs like Grey Sky Blue’ and ’Guilty’ showed that she has a fine handle on writing a song but she happily acknowledged her influences such as Sugar Pie Dos Santos and Nina Simone and really did justice to them both with classic renditions.For me the best number of the whole evening was Kasbah, a really jazzy and funky workout that really brought home how good the band is together.
